Pampered in the Wilderness

General Description

You have earned it.   You deserve it.   Why not experience the breathtaking wilderness of British Columbia in first-class style.  Not everyone can afford it, or can appreciate it, or can even imagine being totally pampered while actually seeing, touching, feeling, smelling and hearing the incredible beauty of the Canadian Wilderness.

The first thing you may notice when you arrive high up on Blackcomb and Whistler mountains, is the fresh, crisp air saturated with invigorating natural scents of Hemlock and Western Red Cedar from the pristine forests surrounding the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Whistler where you will nestle into your Deluxe Room.  And your every need will be attended to by professionals who are well skilled at serving discerning guests and celebrities from all over the world.   Roger Moore will lead you through stimulating morning group photo treks, along breathtaking mountain ridges, through dense forests, through lovely meadows, and perhaps you may be lucky enough to spot one or more of the black bears who inhabit this region.  You may also anticipate your fine dining in the renowned restaurants of La Rua, and Barefoot Bistro.   Prepare to be amazed at the beehive of activity in this quaint Village of Whistler, which will be the site of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  And you may prefer your own independent ‘shopping safari’ in the multitude of upscale shops and galleries all within walking distance.   Or perhaps, a daily course of spa treatments would be your pampering of choice.

On your fourth day, prepare yourself for a thrilling experience few, if any, of your friends have ever had.   You will skim across the crystal clear surface, and feel your pontoons lift off as your rise above Green Lake in your chartered sea plane.   Have your camera ready because words cannot describe the stunning vista before you as you cruise safely and comfortably just above the treetops. Your panoramic view is one you will long remember, as you pass over the Sunshine Coast of the mainland and look down upon the Gulf Islands sprinkled about in the Strait of Georgia.   Straight ahead is the famed Vancouver Island, a natural wonderland of pristine beauty.   You are flying low enough that you may see gray whales, or orcas, or sea lions, and you can waive to fishermen, trawling their nets.    Keep your camera ready as you pass over those snow capped peaks on your way to the wild and wonderful wilderness of the west coast, where you will be received in the exclusive wilderness resort known as The Outpost at Bedwell River.    If only the gold miners who worked this river in the last two centuries could have experienced the luxury you will be enjoying.   The Outpost is totally wild … and totally luxurious.   You can expect to be totally pampered – even an evening turndown service.   Each morning, Roger will lead a group photo trek, exploring paths of cedar boardwalk, trails through ancient forest cathedrals and lush fern gardens, acres of river valley meadow with ponds and salmon spawning channels.  Thereafter, you are free to schedule personal activities such as horseback riding, whale and bear watching, salt and fresh water fishing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, Flores Island treks, Hot Springs Cove treks, and naturalist hikes.  Or you may choose enjoy Zen in the wilderness at the Healing Grounds Spa.

After your last gourmet breakfast you will be comfortably swished away to Tofino, where your charter plane awaits you for your return flight to Vancouver International Airport.

Your expedition Memory book of action photographs will allow you to relive forever the time you were Pampered in the Wilderness.
