Passport and Visa Requirements for Brazil |
Both US Passport and Brazilian VISA are required for travel to Brazil.
Your Passport must have at lease 6 months remaining before expiration and it must have at lease two blank pages for Brazilian stamps.
The Brazilian TOURIST VISA is a relatively efficient process because Brazil has a consulate in Houston and you can apply by mail. You should plan for about 10 days to 2 weeks turnaround time for you VISA. The entire application process is explained online at: http://www.brazilhouston.org/ingles/vitur.htm . It is easy to use the 'fillable application form' right there on the website, then print it out, include the photographs, money (about $120) etc and mail it to Houston with an enclose post-paid return envelope. Your VISA will require that you travel to Brazil within 90 days of issue, and it will be good for a period of 5 years, which means you can join me on more Expeditions to beautiful Brazil in the future. It is a simple process but you should act ASAP to be sure it is completed so you will eliminate the risk of some unforeseen problem which could cause you to miss the Expedition. Always better to 'know' than to 'discover'.
ATTENTION: The VISA application will ask for copies of your airline tickets, which you will not yet have. Solution: Contact Jerry Lind at Alla1 Viagens Travel and he can provide you with a signed letter attesting to the fact that you will have a ticket issued for the Expedition. You can reach Jerry at:
